APPLICATION METHOD:
Before commencing grouting the adhesive bed must be set. Clean the joints of all adhesive and other contaminants, such as efflorescence, laitance, dirt, and loose material, using a grout raker. Wet all joints with clean water and ensure they are dry before grouting. Ensure the joints are dry before grouting.
Mixing: Take pre-measured water in a clean mixing vessel (1:3 water :grout ratio). Add ANQA-GROUT CT in the vessel and mix until a slump-free, smooth paste of uniform colour is obtained. If an electric drill mixer is used blend on a slow speed (less than300 rpm). Avoid introducing air by mixing at too high a speed or overmixing. Do not reconstitute the mixed grout by adding more water, as this will reduce the final strength.
APPLICATION:
Using a grout float or rubber squeegee compact the mixed grout into the joints ensuring that they are completely filled. Work in small areas and remove as much excess grout from the tile surface as possible. Do not exceed the working time of the grout. Allow about 15 minutes for the grout to dry. Using a damp sponge, clean the tile/stone surface diagonally to the joint lines. Finally, wash down with clean water and a sponge to remove any dried grout film from the tile or stone surface. Once the grout has sufficiently set within the joints, polish the tile/stone surface with a clean cloth. Alternatively give a final wash down with clean water using a dampened sponge.
Note:
- Care should be taken to avoid staining tile/stone when
grouting with coloured grout. This is especially important when grouting unglazed floor tiles or stones, quarry-textured surfaces, etc. Check the potential risk of staining by applying the grout to a few tiles or stones in a small trial area.
- If certain dark shades are used, initially grout colour may
bleach, but after 2–3 washes with water, the colour bleaching will stop.
CLEANING:
Tools and containers may be cleaned using clean water when the adhesive is still fresh. The hardened adhesive can be removed from tools mechanically.
