ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT is a dry-mixed, waterproof, and breathable plastering mortar with dehumidifying properties. Made from white Portland cement, calcium carbonate powder, and a unique natural admixture (Izocomponent), it is fiber-reinforced for durability. Designed for external and internal concrete or plastered walls, it provides a smooth, white finish while replacing traditional skim coats and waterproof membranes.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This 100% waterproof superfine skim coat resists heavy rain, including monsoon conditions, with water penetration below 1mm. Its high micropore volume supports continuous dehumidification, ensuring trapped moisture is efficiently released. It offers a long-term solution to water penetration while promoting ventilation and drying, without harmful or toxic ingredients.

USAGE
- Applicable on vertical surfaces (concrete and plastered wall) both for renovation of existing/historical buildings and for new buildings:
- External plastered wall / precast concrete wall / cast-in-place concrete wall
- Internal plastered wall / precast concrete wall / cast-in-place concrete wall
- ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT can be applied either on a surface plastered by ANQA IZONIL plaster or on a surface plastered by ordinary plaster.

ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT delivers a superior smooth, white finish, eliminating the need for a concrete neutralizer, patching compound, or primer prior to painting. It is fully compatible with all types of masonry paint in terms of adhesion. To ensure optimal breathability, the use of diffusion-open paints—such as silicate, cement, or lime wash—is recommended, as they facilitate moisture evaporation. Conversely, diffusion-closed paints, including elastomeric and latex, are discouraged, as they hinder breathability. However, if a diffusion-closed paint is applied, ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT serves a dual function: providing comprehensive waterproofing protection for external walls while simultaneously allowing trapped moisture within concrete or plastered surfaces, ceilings, beams, and columns to dissipate through its advanced dehumidifying properties.

SURFACE PREPARATION
IZONIL SKIM COAT is designed to be applied on plastered substrate (plastered with one of ANQA IZONIL plaster or plastered by ordinary plaster) or on concrete substrate (precast concrete or cast-in-place concrete).
Surface must be solid and without impurities, loose particles and contaminants such as oil, dust, grease, alcohol, etc. It is recommended to patch holes deeper than 2 - 3 mm with plaster mixture before application of IZONIL SKIM COAT. It is recommended to slightly wet the surface immediately before application.

MIXING
It is advisable to use hand-held electric mixer to mix ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT. Water is always added first, 7.2 - 7.5 liters of water per 20 kg of ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT. Nothing else is added to the mixed composition. Add the prescribed amount of water into a suitable mixing container, followed by ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT powder. Mix for at least 5 minutes with constant slowly mixing into a homogeneous smooth slurry. Then let the slurry rest for 5 minutes and then mix again for 1 minute. Mixed ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT must be used within 3 hours.

APPLICATION
ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT is applied manually by trowel or by machine pump on prepared surface in recommended total thickness 2 - 3 mm. It is recommended to apply IZONIL SKIM COAT in 2 layers. First layer is applied in thickness 1 - 1.5 mm. When first layer is partially dry (after 30 - 60 minutes), second layer is applied in thickness 1 - 1.5 mm to reach total thickness 2 - 3 mm.

CLEANING
Plaster residue on tools and equipment should be cleaned using clear water.
Hardened material can only be disposed of mechanically.

CARE AFTER APPLICATION
At least 24 hours after application of ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT, sandpaper can be used to correct trowel lines and imperfections caused by application. Dust created by sandpaper must be washed off the surface with water - water does not penetrate through ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT and wall does not get wet.

FINAL COATING / PAINTING
Let ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT to dry / harden at least 3 days before finishing the surface. IZONIL SKIM COAT can remain exposed without any final coating / painting. If final coating / painting is required, decorative coatings with high water vapor permeability should be used (highly breathable - diffusion-open decorative coatings / paints like silicate paints, cement paints, lime paints). If you are using a different type of paint, check its suitability with the distributor.

LIMITATIONS AND WARNINGS
- No additives other than clean water are added to ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT
- ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT is not applied at direct sunlight and / or strong wind or rain
- ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT is only applied on a solid, pre-prepared substrate
- The freshly applied ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT must be protected from rain for at least 24 hours (at 20 °C)
- If IZONIL SKIM COAT is applied inside, it is necessary to ensure proper ventilation of the room for optimum drying
- Mixed ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT can only be processed at air and substrate temperature above + 5 ° C
- If freezing temperatures are expected, ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT is not recommended.
- Potable water is used for mixing of ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT
- Unused ANQA IZONIL SKIM COAT remnants are mixed with water, allowed to cure and disposed as construction waste
- Contaminated packaging must be disposed of as hazardous waste (see safety data sheet)
